Our Team

The Lerner Hall Operations team assists visitors, controls building access, verifies appointments, coordinates deliveries, answers questions, and manages building issues with Columbia University Facilities and Public Safety. The team is a resource for information about Lerner Hall, the University and even the City of New York. The team also identifies and manages improvement initiatives in the building.

  • As Associate Manager, Tia oversees the delivery of services for students, staff and guests of the university. She works closely with Facilities, University Event Management, Dining, Public Safety and other related University partners. 

    Tia started working at Columbia University as a part-time Welcome Desk Attendant in October 2019. She was brought on full-time as an Assistant Manager for the Lerner Operations team in January 2020 and was promoted in July 2022. Tia holds a MBA with a Finance Concentration and a BBA in Accounting from Monroe College. 

     

  • As an Assistant Manager, Rashi oversees the delivery of services for students, staff and guests of the university. He works closely with Facilities, University Event Management, Dining, Public Safety and other related University partners. 

    Rashi started working at Columbia University as a part-time Welcome Desk Attendant in July 2022. He was brought on full-time as an Assistant Manager for the Lerner Operations team in September 2022. He holds a Master of Science in Special Education from Brooklyn College and a BS in Human Resource Management from the Yeshiva University. 

     

  • As the Senior Director of Housing Services and Student Center Operations, Lorena works closely with partners across the University including Columbia Housing, Student Life, Campus Operations, Public Safety, Dining, Environmental Stewardship, and others. She began her career at Columbia University in the 2012 as a part-time Lerner Hall Welcome Desk Attendant.  

    Lorena holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Connecticut and a Master's Degree in Sustainability Management from the Columbia University School of Professional Studies. Her experience at Columbia, both as an officer of the University and a student/alum inspires her to continuously strive to impact positive change within the campus community.

     

  • As an Assistant Manager, Kimberly oversees the delivery of services for students, staff and guests of the university. She works closely with Facilities, University Event Management, Dining, Public Safety and other related University partners. 

    Kimberly started working at Columbia University as an Assistant Manager in January 2022. She holds a JD from New York Law School and a BS in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Kimberly takes a special interest in reading and would happily provide recommendations for visitors.  

     

  • As the Manager for Operations and Customer Service for Lerner Hall, James oversees the Lerner Hall Operations Team to support the delivery of services for students, staff and guests of the university. He works closely with Facilities, University Event Management, Dining, Public Safety and other related University partners. 

    James began working at Columbia University as an Assistant Manager for the Lerner Operations team in January 2016. James holds a BS in Natural Sciences from St. Thomas Aquinas College, a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University, and a Master of Science in Human Capital Management from Columbia University.

     

  • Honey Sue provides vision, organization, and leadership to the operation of Columbia’s undergraduate residence halls and Alfred Lerner Hall, the student center. 

    This broad scope of work encompasses short- and long-term capital planning of the physical assets, custodial and maintenance, and guest services for student residents, visitors, and administrators. With her team, Honey Sue aims to provide a consistent, easy to navigate, and rewarding campus experience. 

    In addition to these responsibilities, Honey Sue manages Columbia’s Trademark and Licensing program and several on-site services provided by contracted vendors. Honey Sue has served in various leadership roles during her tenure at Columbia. Most recently, she served as executive director of Business Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. 

     

  • As an Associate Manager, David oversees the delivery of services for students, staff and guests of the university. He works closely with Facilities, University Event Management, Dining, Public Safety and other related University partners. 

    David started working at Columbia University as a part-time Welcome Desk Attendant in June 2019. He was brought on full-time as An Assistant Manager for the Lerner Operations team in January 2020. David holds a BS in Fine Arts from Hofstra University.
